Singapore: Aura

Tasting Aura's Weekend Lunch Set Menu

1 Saint Andrew's Road, 05-03 and 06-02 National Gallery Singapore, Singapore 178957

On the 5th level of the National Gallery Singapore is a waiter-service restaurant which melds art and cuisine beautifully so that your senses are fully engaged after a meal and a viewing of museum exhibits.

This post shows what is included in the Weekend Lunch Menu. The food volume is for 2.

Note that the menu changes. For the a la carte menu, check their website.

After ordering, the waiter will offer some bread and olive oil with balsamic vinegar. If you easily get full, go easy on the bread.

Next is something that you did not order but will definitely appreciate, an amuse-bouche will be offered. It's how a chef introduces himself to you so if you liked it, then you will most likely enjoy the rest of the meal.

amuse-bouche: Tapioca chop with truffle infused mousse. Each guest gets one of this tasty morsel.
I had to close my eyes as I put the entire thing in my mouth and let the truffle taste and smell fill up my palate and nostrils. Is it possible to snack on this???

Glass of red for him and prosecco for her, cost of each is not included in the set menu price.

In the picture above with the wine glasses, are a plate of Salt and Paprika Calamari and in the same plate with the parma ham are a couple of Tuna Tartare and Avocado Crostino.

The weekend menu had a generous 5 different starters:
(1) Tuna Tartare and Avocado Crostinos
(2) Salt and Paprika Calamari
(3) Trofie with Crab Busara
(4) Caserecce with pesto and porcini
(5) Parma ham with burrata cheese

Except for the calamari, we were able to finish the rest of the starters. Was not able to ask if we can takeaway the leftover.

Trofie with Crab Busara

Caserecce with Pesto and Porcini

Parma ham with burrata cheese
There were 3 choices for the mains. As there were only 2 of us, we did not eat the 1st option which was grilled snapper with Mediterranean vegetable stew.

For him: Kagoshima beef (medium) with Green asparagus and potato mousseline (need to add 22 SGD for this)
The potato mousseline had truffle bits which is probably one of the reasons why an extra 22 sgd is required for this plate. Beef was cooked a perfect medium.

For her: Smoked Duck Supreme with Celeriac and Lemon Spinach (includes a slab of foie gras)
The foie gras that was included in this plate was a welcome surprise. Yes, this is probably the unhealthiest dish in the menu. Would definitely not take cholesterol level blood test after eating it.

tea for him and coffee for her

Passion fruit and lemon tart with almond crumble and yuzu jelly
He enjoyed the yuzu jelly.

Aura Tiramisu
I normally am not able to finish dessert on my own but this tiramisu was one of the better ones I've had.

This set menu is all yours for 48 sgd ++ per person. I feel the pricing is fair for the quality and amount of food served us. Oh the waiter service is impressive as well.

Best to call ahead to reserve a table.
